As a contract for the Chicago Arts Foundation, the goal was to craft a website promoting the Take Me to the River Exhibit set to launch in the summer of 2013. One of the challenges for this project was designing the website within CAF’s version of the Blackbaud CMS, which was limited in design-specific options and CSS styling. With this in mind, we worked with the exhibit creators and interviewed them about the core elements and feelings they wished to convey about the exhibit. Inspired by the exhibit’s themes, we designed a website correlating thematic elements with the color scheme. We used each adjective to delve into the exhibit themes, promoting more tourism along the Chicago River in the downtown area.
