As part of the design and marketing team at Vibes Media, our client Bloomingdale’s wanted to capitalize on the emerging technology of Passbook and create a Passbook campaign for their Shop Your Way Christmas sale. Apple Passbook technology released during the summer of 2012 and Vibes Media saw an opportunity to provide interactive marketing campaigns through Passbook’s delivery methods. We spent time working through the Passbook tech requirements and found an advantage to inserting text within the image used on the pass to subvert some of the initial limitations of text length. Allowing for a more targeted approach, we could adjust the passes and allow for more variety across the marketing campaign and sales to customers.
